AGENCY SELECTION PREPARATION SETTING UP A PROVEN PROCESS TO CREATE AN OPTIMAL AGENCY RELATIONSHIP

Thousands of agencies provide the same services in the same geographic location and within the same industry. How do you choose the best for your company or project? Below are four easy steps to get you started.

  • Visualize your ideal: Develop a list of important skills that your new agency partner should possess, then select a short list of the five to ten agencies most likely to meet your requirements.
  • Level the playing field: Invite each agency on your short list to present a proposal to your organization’s selection team, giving each agency the same information to respond to.
  • Try it on: Select two or three final candidates. Consider potential team interaction and corporate culture compatibility. Meet each potential agency to ensure a clear understanding of your organization and its needs.
  • Ask for directions (and give some too): In the course of each review, set clear expectations for both potential partners and the selection team, and spot-check these expectations at each step in the process. Kickoff the relationship with well defined processes, goals and timelines.
